The Syrian Arab Army’s 9th Armored Division – in cooperation with Hezbollah (Party of God) – has captured the village of Hamreet in the southwestern part of the Rif Dimashq Governorate.

According to a military source, the 9th Division and Hezbollah were able to breach the Al-Qaeda linked “Al-Nusra Front’s” (Jabhat Al-Nusra) positions from the northeast perimeter of Hamreet on Thursday night, taking control of the village before dawn on Friday morning.

The source further added that at least a dozen militants were killed during the battle for Hamreet. Two 9th Division soldiers were reportedly “killed-in-action” (KIA); there were no Hezbollah casualties.
