BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – Hezbollah’s Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Na’im Qassem said this week that his organization’s forces are fully prepared for war with Israel.

In an interview with Al-Manar, Sheikh Qassem said Hezbollah has prepared themselves for any confrontation with Israel, including a total war.

Sheikh Qassem also touched on the Israeli military operation that began on April 11, 1996 and resulted in the death of several Lebanese civilians.

“On April 11, 1996, the Israeli enemy sought to sow the seeds of division between Hezbollah and the Lebanese nation through committing massacres. Several world states conspired with the Zionists after the so-called Summit of Peacemakers in the Egyptian port city of Sharm El-Sheikh in order to end the resistance movement,” Sheikh Qassem told Al-Manar.

He was referring to a U.S.-led summit on the so-called Middle East peace process, which was followed by an Israeli military operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

During the 16-day military operation, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shelled the U.N. camp in the town of Qana, killing and wounding over a hundred civilians.

This attack was widely condemned across the United Nations and prompted the signing of a ceasefire agreement.

“The resilience of the (Hezbollah) resistance movement, people and the (Lebanese) army, however, compelled the Israeli regime to concede the humiliating defeat, stop its aggression on Lebanon and come to terms with the fact that Hezbollah reserves the right to fire rockets in response to any Zionist assault on Lebanese civilians,” Sheikh Qassem continued.

Israel does not want a war with Lebanon, they just want to be left alone. Hezbollah, however, is preparing for war with Israel by gearing up a factory to upgrade their old rocket arsenal to make them more accurate while the country is bankrupt and facing a virus pandemic. They should be actively developing their off shore oil/gas deposits to get the country economically more self sufficient. I don’t understand why the people of Lebanon don’t see that Hezbollah is a proxy of Iran and there for only one purpose, to make war on Israel. This war is coming so… Read more »

So Hezbollah is ready for another 100%+ of casualties on its active fighters?
In 2006, they had 2000 active fighters (and 3-4k reservists) and ended with about 2100-2200 casualties, around a third of these being fatalities…

Tell us about a dozens destroyed Merkava tanks and one patrol ship? The most important thing, who asked for truce? And why IDF cheif of stuff resigned? There is no doubt that Israel has a huge advantage in potencional escalation, but Hezbollah is far from harmless.

Actually, 20 tanks were damaged beyond repair, not dozens.. Won’t happen again : we’ve seen how effective was the Trophy APS in Gaza, 2014 : ATGMs and anti-tank rockets/grenades wee blasted before hitting, now they have Trophy LV for light vehicles… Remember the 2 Kornet launches last year? Hezb stopped the video before the smoke dissipated… CCTV along the road showed that the armoured car wasn’t damaged at all, the APS intercepted two Kornet ATGMs. A frigate was damaged with 4 fatalities, and this was due to incompetent captain who let the CIWS switched off… Meanwhile, the whole Shia area… Read more »

Hezbollah admitted that thier casualty was 250. plus civilian casualty 1200+. so go back and rectify your maths

Ooops… I was too long to edit… So… +++ “Hezbollah doesn’t lies the way israeli scum lies” => Yes : they do Islamic”taqiyya”, which means “deception”… It’s the greatest Sh speciality. By essence, any Muslim speaking to the kuffar is telling lies, especially a Shia one, therefore, Hezbollah being Shia Islamists, all they brag about can only be fücking lies… The only time Nazirallah didn’t lied was when he said “had we known the Israeli response would be so violent, we wouldn’t had started this war” +++ “casulatly of israeli soldier was more then 350+ but israeli admitted only 160”… Read more »
