BERIUT, LEBANON (4:00 P.M) – A Hezbollah fighter was killed in eastern Syria last week while conducting an operation near the Iraqi border, the Lebanese group announced on Monday.
According to reports, a Hezbollah fighter from the Al-Masri family in Bebnine (Akkar District) was killed during a mission near the border city of Albukamal in eastern Deir Ezzor.
The Hezbollah fighter was reportedly killed when the Islamic State fired several mortar shells towards the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) front-line positions near the Euphrates River.
No further details were released.
