The Lebanese Resistance organization “Hezbollah” – incoordination with the Syrian Arab Army’s 1st Armored Division and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – has rapidly advanced at the western part of the Qalamoun Mountains, as the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra struggles to maintain their ground.
After the capture of Jour Beit ‘Abdel-Haqq and Musrawa’ Haql Za’ytar, Hezbollah and their allies advanced to the strategic hill of Tal Al-Moussa, where they encircled the combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and cutoff all their supply lines from the town of Ras Al-Marra to the east and the Al-Zabadani District to the south.
The battle for Tal Al-Moussa is the most critical battle that is set to take place in the Qalamoun Mountains, due to its strategic location near the Lebanese border-crossing and its mountain-top that is considered the highest point along this rocky area in the Rif Dimashq Governorate.
In addition to the advance to Tal Al-Moussa, the SAA’s 1st Armored Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces – has advanced at the integral town of Jaroud in the eastern part of the Qalamoun Mountains, killing 26 enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and destroying two armored vehicles mounted with a 14.5mm anti-aircraft machine gun.
Jabhat Al-Nusra and their allies are stuck in a bind at the Qalamoun Mountains, as Hezbollah and the Syrian Armed Forces have secured most of the towns in this region, save Ras Al-Marra and Al-Jubbah Heights.
Hezbollah did not stop their advance at Tal Al-Moussa, the Lebanese Resistance group took complete control of Tal Al-‘Alam and Tal Al-Jarafa after fierce clashes with the armed militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra on Wednesday morning – firefights have expanded to Tal Al-Moussa to the west of these hills.
