BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:25 P.M.) – Hezbollah continued their military operations near the Syrian border in eastern Lebanon on Christmas, despite heavy snow and frigid temperatures around the Qalamoun Mountains.
Hezbollah’s official media wing released pictures of their soldiers operating around the mountains of eastern Lebanon on Christmas Eve, confirming the news reported earlier in the day by resistance activists.
Recently, Hezbollah has beefed up their defenses in the Qalamoun Mountains after the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham” (ISIS) launched their Palmyra and Quraytayn offensives.
Quraytayn is located at the eastern slopes of the Qalamoun Mountains and directly east of Sadad, which is situated near the Lebanese border.
So any ISIS infiltration into the Sadad area will further endanger the Lebanese-Syrian border-crossing along the Qalamoun Mountains.
