Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said Hezbollah could “disable [Israel’s offshore oil installations] within hours,” speaking during a televised address in Beirut on Friday.

“In the battle for oil and gas, the only power you have, you the Lebanese people, is the resistance, because the Lebanese army is not allowed to own missiles,” Nasrallah began.

“If you prevent us, we prevent you; if you open fire at us, we will open fire,” he said in a ceremony commemorating Imad Mughniyeh, the party’s former military commander who was assassinated in Damascus in 2008.

Nasrallah’s comments came amid rising tensions between Israel and Lebanon over maritime border and Lebanon’s alleged excavation attempts in Block 9 which Israel regards as part of its own territory.

The Hezbollah leader would then criticize the US, calling them dishonest mediators on behalf of Israel.

“The Americans are not honest mediators, especially when the other party is the Israeli entity,” he concluded.

Be realistic. Tillerson Rex Wayne Tillerson ex co of ExxonMobil is likely into it. Italy’s Eni, France’s Total and Russia’s Novatek won the bid. So… my uninformed guess that is the reason.

That would be Israel’s “offshore” oil that is within Lebanese territorial and “law of the seas” jurisdiction.

Yet another overreach.

Israel has rendered International Law meaningless.

See my post. It is in disputed areas. Israel marked out the border alone in 2006 or so and wants to press its will by military force now.

This is as You say: overreach. Both countries are equal.

p.s. The UN tried to mediate. Mediation broke down. Israel threatens its weaker neighbour with force and not to go to an international arbitration tribunal. See also UN Charter and A/RES/2625(XXV) = Declaration on Principles of International Law concerning Friendly Relations and Co-operation among States in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

But Israel has very efficient anti-rockets/missiles/artillery shells systems, even more efficient than the Yankees and bad trip, they also detect from where it was shot, even for mortar shells…
Idiots in SAA had immediate return fire while shooting into Golan Heights.
Nasrallah is loudmouthed bur has a little d**k compared to Tsahal, period!
Hezbo already had ALL its active troops either killed or wounded in 2006 and this time, there will be no UNSC resolution to save his a*s from Israelis, a resolution he actually still violates as ALL Lebanese militias were supposed to disarm, including Hezbo…

Tsahal has bigger d**k than Force de frappe?

Our friend Solomon Krupacek claimed: “Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman… threatened the companies that are developing the oil field.

And as I posted French Total is one of the firms.

p.s. In the case they have bigger d**k than French? – I wonder whether the Вооружённые Си́лы Росси́йской Федера́ции have bigger or smaller d**k than Tsahal. LOL As I said Russia is also in the Lebanese block 9.

Nasrallah is really a MORON! Block 9 is in Cyprus EEZ… Nevertheless, let him attack gas fields, it’ll be enough to provoke an international intervention on Hezbo as Israel is not alone : Russians, French, etc are implied. Moreover, Cyprus is in the EU. Mr.Nasrallah should read art.47(2) of EU constitution : it’s equivalent to chapter 5 of NATO treaty : any attack on an EU country is an attack on the full EU… And I’m ready to bet that Hariri, Geagea or the Gemayels’ wouldn’t spend any tear at Nasrallah burial… And frankly, in 35 years, Hezbo wasn’t even… Read more »

Israel’s Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman claimed on January 31 that the naval oil field (Block 9) is inside the Israeli waters and threatened the companies that are developing the oil field.

Meyn fraynd, I posted the map of the area above for our French friend. By international standards borders head straight out from the land borders. Unless the land is curved. No matter what מר Lieberman says. Does the Mr. Defence Minister of Israel threaten the firms or is it intended to strike fear into their respective homelands? If the later – he had better asked the US first, whether he has licence to start a war with Russia and the EU/NATO at the same time. p.s. Guess he has asked the US. And Rex Wayne Tillerson ex co of ExxonMobil… Read more »

No mon ami, there are many block 9 around the world. We do not talk about: Onasagoras field, located in Block 9 of the Cyprus exclusive economic zone. The contested area is just East of the Israeli gas fields and maritime economic zone. Load this map to see all. http://www.executive-magazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Untitled-e1483443302639.jpg Part of the article: http://www.executive-magazine.com/economics-policy/new-strategy-needed-for-lebanons-oil-and-gas When Israel laid claim to the gas field to the east – Lebanon stated that it has no objection but made claim to the UN on the area East of it. That was in 2010. So 8 years later Israel claims a different border. So… Read more »
