On Wednesday morning in the Qalamoun Mountains of western Syria, Hezbollah – in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army’s 20th and 128th Brigades of the 1st Armored Division – stormed the strategic hilltop at Qurnah Wadi Al-Mufarah in Jaroud Jarajeer, where they reportedly encountered a large contingent of armed combatants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra.”
Following a series of intense firefights around 7:30 A.M. (Damascus Time), the soldiers from the Lebanese Resistance and the Syrian Armed Forces broke-through Jabhat Al-Nusra’s frontline defenses and secured the imperative hilltop at Qurnah Wadi Al-Mufarah, along with the valley ( Wadi Al-Mufarah) it overlooks in the Qalamoun Mountains of Syria.
According to a military source in Damascus, the Lebanese Resistance and the Syrian Armed Forces killed a confirmed 19 enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra, including a number of foreigners that possessed forged documents; this was coupled with the capture of another 13 militants during these firefights at Qurnah Wadi Al-Mufarah.
Meanwhile, across the border of Syria, Hezbollah repelled another attack that was conducted by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the northern countryside of the ‘Arsal District; this assault resulted in the death of a number of enemy combatants from the terrorist group on Wednesday morning.
