BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:30 A.M.) – The Syrian government has formally requested that Hezbollah remain in Syria after the war, Lebanon’s Al-Akhbar reported on Monday.

According to the report, a Hezbollah official told the Lebanese publication that they received an official request to stay in Syria “post-conflict reconciliation.

Hezbollah will reportedly keep their troops along the vast Syrian-Lebanese border region and inside the southern districts of Damascus for unspecified period of time.

The Syrian government has yet to comment on this latest report; however, they do not often confirm or deny these claims from Al-Akhbar.

Hezbollah officially entered the Syrian War in the Spring of 2013; they would play an integral role in the government’s successful offensives in the Homs, Damascus, Aleppo, and Deir Ezzor governorates.

This is a Civilized Place for Public Discussion

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

The topics discussed here matter to us, and we want you to act as if they matter to you, too. Be respectful of the topics and the people discussing them, even if you disagree with some of what is being said.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

In fact, if anyone from the time these religious books were written ended meeting some time travellers or was transported in the world we… Read more »

Very bad calculation since Khamenei turned sides onto Turkey+Qatar, the very same ones who are the main responsible ones for the SHTF in Syria…
Well, Erdogan 1st did a taqiyya on Syria by impersonating the best friend and having Assad signing a free-trade/free-bordercrossing agreement that helped smuggling many thousands of jihadists and weapons, now Khamenei pactises with the enemy… And Nasrallah being his puppet…
Huhu, as things are going with all these reversing alliances, Trump may end being the best friend for Syria!
