The Syrian Arab Army’s 63rd Brigade of the 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with Hezbollah, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – continued their advance inside the resort-city of Al-Zabadani on Sunday, as they secured more sites en route to tightening the chokehold around the embattled Islamist rebels’ necks.

On Sunday morning, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance cleared the entire Al-Nabwa’ Neighborhood in northwest Al-Zabadani after engaging a large Islamist contingent from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra.”

Following the clashes inside the Al-Nabwa’ Neighborhood, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah shifted their focus to Al-Zabadani’s southeastern sector, where they encountered fierce resistance from the Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nusra combatants at the Al-Zabadani Bus Station.

Finally, after four straight hours of intense firefights, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance imposed full control over the Al-Zabadani Bus Station, marking the first time since 2011 that any affiliate from the Syrian Government has entered this building.

It took 66 days, but the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah finally concluded the battle for the strategically located Al-Zabadani Bus Station; this was a decisive battle due to its centralized location inside the city.

In addition to their success at the Al-Zabadani Bus Station, the Syrian Armed Forces and Hezbollah also captured the Dawar Al-Saylaan Neighborhood amid the Syrian Arab Air Force’s powerful airstrikes above Al-Zabadani.
