Hezbollah carried out a successful ambush on Sunday after they caught a large Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) convoy attempting to make their way from the Syrian village of Jaroud to the Lebanese border-crossing at Jaroud Jarajeer.

The Hezbollah ambush on the Lebanese-Syrian border resulted in the death of 10 enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and the destruction of 2 armored vehicles that were mounted with anti-aircraft machine guns.

Hezbollah has recently increased their presence along the Lebanese-Syrian border after terrorist groups like Jabhat Al-Nusra and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) carried out several attacks against the Lebanese Armed Forces in Jaroud ‘Arsal and Ras Ba’albak.

The Qalamoun Mountains are mostly under the control of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah; however, the northern hilltops at Jaroud Qarah continue to be a problem due to ISIS’ presence there.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
