BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri fired back at Hezbollah’s Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Thursday, claiming that his group does not support terrorists.
The Lebanese Premier claimed that his group rescued Lebanon from the Islamic State (Daesh) terrorist group.
“Days ago, al-Mustaqbal Movement was accused of backing Daesh (Islamic State group) and the terrorist groups. This is a totally baseless accusation, because we are the ones who rescued the country, offered martyrs and stood in the face of Daesh before anyone else did,” Hariri stated, as quoted by Naharnet.
Hariri would then take a shot at Hezbollah’s Security General, stating that if someone was funding extremism, it would be Hezbollah.
“Accordingly, Hizbullah has no right to accuse us of funding extremism, seeing as if someone is funding extremism, it would be Hizbullah itself, through its actions and behavior,” he concluded.
