Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and a group of delegates from the Lebanese government and Future Movement political party met with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday to discuss Arab and domestic affairs, including the war in Syria.
According to the Lebanese Information Ministry, Hariri stated that Russia shares his position regarding Syria’s future and the role of Dr. Bashar Al-Assad.
The former premier added that Russia is willing to play an important role in Lebanon to ensure a fruitful future.
Saad Hariri has publicly opposed the government of Dr. Bashar Al-Assad, stating that he and Lebanon fully back the Syrian people.
In addition to this, Hariri has also publicly lambasted Hezbollah for participating in the Syrian conflict, despite the fact he has been accused of financially aiding extremist groups inside the country.
