BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:00 P.M.) – Approximately one hour ago, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri began his press conference on the formation of a new government.
Hariri began his press conference by criticizing Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah for his recent remarks on the formation of a new government in Lebanon.
“The country ran into obstacles after the speech of Hezbollah’s leader,” Hariri stated.
“I regret that Hezbollah has prevented the formation of the government,” he would continue.
Hariri would then address the claims by Hezbollah that he is monopolizing the political affairs of Lebanon’s Sunni Muslims.
“No one has the right to say that a certain sect’s representation is being monopolized, while they monopolize an entire sect,” Hariri exclaimed.
“The problems the country will face are Hezbollah’s responsibility,” he continued.
Hariri then attacked the claims that he is inciting sectarianism inside of Lebanon, adding that he will not be intimidated by anyone.
“I am the father of Sunnis in Lebanon and I know what serves their interest,” he stated.
The Lebanese Premier would conclude his speech by referring to himself in third person and stating that he will not be defeated.
“Saad Hariri will not be defeated, despite repeated attempts throughout the past 13 years,” he concluded.
