Earlier this morning, the Islamist rebels from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham, and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” reportedly recaptured 5 farms from the Syrian Armed Forces at the village of Banes in the Aleppo Governorate’s southern countryside after a series of fierce firefights.
According to a number of battlefield reports from the southern Aleppo front, the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham, Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki, and Jabhat Al-Nusra are currently on the offensive, targeting the strategic town of Tal Al-Eiss that is located directly north of the recently captured village of Banes.
Over the weekend, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, Hezbollah, Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions), Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), Kataeb Hezbollah (Iraqi paramilitary), and Firqa Fatayyemoun (Iranian/Afghani paramilitary) – imposed full control over the village of Burnah after advancing north from Tal Al-‘Eiss.
The following day, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies captured the village of Halasah (var. Khalasah) from the Islamist rebels of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, killing several enemy combatants before advancing to the town of Zitan that is located to the north of Burnah.
Currently, the Syrian Armed Forces and Islamist rebels are clashing at the village of Zitan and the southern hills of Tal Al-‘Eiss – firefights are ongoing.
