BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – The ‘Ezzeddine Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, stressed its rejection of Israel’s plans to annex large parts of the occupied Palestinian territories, vowing to confront it firmly.
The military spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu ‘Obeida, said in a speech, Thursday, that the Palestinian resistance considered the decision to annex parts of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley as “a declaration of war against the Palestinian people.”
He continued: “The resistance will be the faithful guardian of our people, its land and its sanctities, and will make the enemy bite the fingers of remorse for this sinful decision.”
The spokesman stated that the completion of a new exchange deal with Israel is at the top of Hamas’ priorities, warning that at the same time that the deal will not pass without being led by senior leaders and implementers against the Israelis, adding: “The price will be paid by the occupation with his consent or against his nose.”
The spokesman pledged that the taboos that were broken in the “Wafaa Al-Ahrar” deal in 2011 will be broken and more broadly in an upcoming deal, stressing that Hamas has many options to impose its will on Israel on this issue.
