BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:45 P.M.) – A half dozen Syrian Arab Army (SAA) soldiers were killed on Friday inside the Daraa Governorate of southern Syria.
According to a military source in Damascus, the six soldiers were killed as a result of a mine explosion in the Daraa countryside.
No further details were released regarding the incident.
The Syrian Arab Army took full control of the Daraa Governorate this past summer after a six-year long battle against the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and their jihadist allies.
Since the expulsion of the rebel groups, the Syrian military has been conducting combing operations to not only clear the explosives left behind by militants, but also, seize their weapons.
