BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:00 A.M.) – The Gulf-backed troops scored their first major advance towards the strategic Hodeideh Port this morning after a fierce battle with the Houthi forces near the provincial airport.
According to pro-government activists, the UAE-backed Southern Resistance and Republican Guard were responsible for this advance near the Hodeideh Airport.
In addition to the ground advance by the Gulf-backed troops, the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, has launched over 20 airstrikes over the Hodeideh Governorate.
With heavy pressure on the Houthi defenses from the Arab Coalition, the Gulf-backed troops should be able to seize more ground in the coming hours.
