Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido called for a nationwide mobilisation on April 6 as part of ‘Operation Freedom’, in a speech to students at Andres Bello University in Caracas on Monday.
The self-proclaimed interim president of Venezuela made the comments as the country faces repeated blackouts and water shortages.
“We will not get used to the tragedy, we will not get used to electricity rationing, we will not get used to the lack of water,” said Guaido.
“We unite more…we go out into the streets more,” added Guiado.
The speech came on the first anniversary of Frente Amplio Venezuela Libre, a coalition of opposition parties dedicated to “restoring democracy” in the country.
