Greece’s Archbishop, Ieronymos, blames the refugee crisis that is crippling Greece and the rest of Europe on the Western world.
“All these refugees are the result of our own actions, the so-called western world. We, with our actions, have forced them to abandon their homelands and now we stack them like sheep for slaughter,” the Archbishop said after a visit to the Migrant and Refugee Reception Center on the island of Samos.
The Archbishop assisted with food distribution to the refugees during his visit to island that faces directly opposite the Turkish Aegean coastline.
He also questioned by people cried for refugee children that died instead of initiallty to avoid the uprooting of families from their homes in Syria that has been engulfed in war since 2011.
Greece itself has been one of the most generous countries towards the refugee crisis despite struggling with its own severe financial crisis since 2010.
