DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:00 A.M.) – Islamic State sleeper cells are still operating deep behind enemy lines, this time targeting Iraqi military bases south of Baghdad City in a brand new propaganda video, released on Friday.
The footage, which is official Islamic State propaganda not shown anywhere by mainstream media, depicts jihadist sharpshooters killing around a dozen of Iraqi troops in the Jurf Sakhar area, located at the Euphrates River between Baghdad and Karbala.
The video starts off with showing various attacks on the Iraqi Army, but then shows a more recent sniper attack at the aforementioned location. Viewer discretion is advised:
The video suggests that ISIS sleeper cells are hiding in caves of the Babil Governorate, known for its palm trees and Arable land, to harass the Iraqi Army inside its heartland.
Nevertheless, the Iraqi Armed Forces have gradually driven ISIS out of the country, pushing it back to a chunk of desert territory between the provinces of Nineveh and Anbar along the northwestern border with Syria.
