DAMASCUS, SYRIA (10:30 P.M.) – The Islamic State’s media wing has released propaganda footage of its fighters chasing a vehicle belonging to the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), an Iraqi paramilitary wing that fights alongside the Iraqi Army on the frontline against ISIS.
In the video, a group of PMU fighters try to escape an ISIS amubhs, but are chased down and brought to a halt after the driver is shot dead. Subsequently, the PMU troops attempt to flee on foot while others are captured alive, only to be beheaded seconds later.
Viewer discretion is advised – please note the video may take a few seconds to load:
A week ago, ISIS released photos of the very same incident, suggesting the ambush to have taken place in either early September or late August.
According to the Islamic State, the attack took place not far from the Euphrates River in the western countryside of Anbar province.
