DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:30 P.M.) – ISIS concluded its deadliest hit-and-run attack of 2017 on Monday, charging along the Iraqi border with a large fighting force, inflicting heavy human and material losses upon the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) if one is to believe Amaq Agency.

Targeting the government-held Al-Jamounah military base in the desert of western Anbar, jihadist belligerents loyal to the Islamic State pushed towards the frontier from three axes after which fierce firefights erupted with the PMU.

Spearheaded by a suicide bomber nicknamed Abu Hasan Al-Iraqi, ISIS militants overran six army outposts surrounding the base and seized loads of weaponry in the process, photos released by Amaq Agency indicate.

In a bulletin covering the attack, the ISIS-tied outlet claimed a total of 68 PMU soldiers were killed once the attack was completely over while 7 armored vehicles were destroyed. In addition, ISIS reportedly captured three armored vehicles which were brought back to the Islamic State mainland before the army encampment was torched:

Al-Masdar News is unable to independently verify the alleged death toll which may very well have been exaggerated for propaganda purposes.

As the aforementioned ISIS attack unfolded yesterday, a PMU branch accused the US military of killing many Iraqi troops in a supposedly accidental HIMARS artillery bombardment that occurred simultaneously in the same area.

The US always give intelligence maps and pictures and coordinates to their terrorist thugs like FSA/ISIS/Al Qaeda. At first they gave coordinates to FSA thugs to hammer PMU and now they gave coordinates to ISIS. by the way why they never attack ISIS when they are close to their bases but they know how to give warnings to PMU which is doing the operation against ISIS in their own soil?

US/Israel attack another anti-ISIS force, moments before ISIS attacks them.

Starting to be a little too obvious what side the US/Israel are actually on.

This is news of something that happened in the real world. You should be grateful that they report both the good and the bad. Al-Masdar is news from a pro-government perspective; but it’s news, not propaganda.

I agree. It is important to hear both sides opinions. It is for adults anyway. Reality is what we wish to discern.

Although A.G. obviously and unnecessary is too harsh, the design of this particular article make it look more Daesh advertising than not. The title is somehow bragging. The statistics of ISIS is presented repeatedly both in the title and text. One have to read the whole article past the pictures before understanding that it actually is not pro-ISIS.
