BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:52 P.M.) – The Free Syrian Army (FSA) lost one of their best TOW missile operators called Alaa Rahmoun on Monday. The FSA group Jaish Al-Nasir published a picture of it’s killed member mourning his death.

The TOW operator also nicknamed Abu Khaled was assassinated in the town Kafr Batthik in Idlib countyside. According to Jaish Al-Nasir the assailant killed Rahmoun in front of his house in Kafr Battikh.

As of yet the assassin of one of the most valuable TOW shooters within the ranks of the Free Syrian Army could not be identified. But yet the opposition blamed the incident on spies of the Syriam Arab Army (SAA), who are rumored to be carrying out missions both in the city of Idlib and it’s countryside.

Robin : 15,000 TOWS and 750 launchers were bought in 2014 by Saudi-Arabia, strangely, teir army doesn’t uses TOWs. BTW, many don’t understand what the term ‘vetted’ means. In arms deal with USA, you have to get US approval to re-export the gear, actually, it also values for parts of systems. Take a look at Gripen jet-fighter. It’s built by Saab and BAe. BUT engine, radar and avionics, ECM are US. You simply can’t buy a Gripen while not being “vetted” by US govt. This doesn’t means at all it is supplied by the US or they’re US backed, usually… Read more »
