BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:20 A.M.) – The Kurdish-led People’s Protection Units (YPG) published a new assassination video from the Afrin region of northwest Aleppo this past weekend.

According to the official media wing of the YPG, one of their sleeper cells in the Afrin region carried out a new assassination of a Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander near the Turkish border over the weekend.

The YPG said that their sleeper cell assassinated the commander of the Free Syrian Army’s Al-Rahman Regiment, Abu Muhammad Al-Shmali, inside the Babili District of the Afrin region.

In a video released by the YPG, their operatives ambushed Abu Muhammad Al-Shamli’s vehicle while he was driving through the Babili District at night:

As shown in the video below, the YPG confiscated the FSA commander’s weapons after killing the latter near the Turkish border:

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
