Golan Heights, Syria (3:45 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched a large-scale offensive in the Al-Quneitra Governorate on Saturday that targeted the government-controlled Golan Heights region.

Led by Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Al-Nusra Front) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels stormed the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) controlled hilltops near the key town of Hader; this resulted in a series of intense firefights on Saturday.

According to a military source in Damascus, the jihadist rebels were only able to capture Tal Al-Qaba’ and Tal Al-Hamirat, while their main assault at Tarinjeh ended in failure.

The military source added that at least 20 militants were killed during the failed assault on Tarinjeh.

Government-backed “Fouj Al-Joulan” (Golan Regiment) released photos of the battle’s aftermath, showing several jihadist rebels killed:

Clashes are still ongoing; however, the main assault has been repelled by the Syrian Armed Forces near Hader.

I realize it is from the incredible forces of the blasts which kill them, but it often looks like many of them were in the act of stripping when they got killed.

If you read a little israeli news sites, they mostly seem to not give a f**k about it…
In fact, Since Bashir is in place, Syria ain’t a problem for them : Bashir had not an ounce of aggressive foreign politics but jihadists at their border, especially in Golan heights which are a very good place to shell their territory is a concern.
Smth I wouldn’t be surprised one of these days is that they paid a part of the VKS operational fees… Not their interest to have a border infested with loonies.

The only reason the Assad government still has the ability to fight is because Putin intervened. The only reason Puntin intervened is to prop the Assad government up. The Assad government has been, and continues to be, effectively a dictatorship, who uses chemical weapons on it’s own people. Having said that, if the government in Damascus intends to agree to fundamental democratic reforms, and a revised constitution incorporating these, to be ratified by all the Syrian people, Syria wide, and Assad is waiting to do so until the opposition gets as ground up as possible, it would be just one… Read more »

Peace and freedom will not be attained by blowing up Islamists. Peace and freedom can be obtained through democracy. As the best alternative to tyranny, and the best means of ensuring the freedom of a diverse people, united as one people, through our own self determination.

Surely not! And seems to me that Assad is more keen to reforms but in some way, inherited a dictatorship.
There are no proof of chemical attacks against populations or even against opp fighters. The Goutha massacre was pointed clearly as a false flag by UN, the sarin has been analysed as coming from libyan (!) arsenals and shellings were done from “moderate” lines…
