BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:35 A.M.) – Besieged ISIS militants in Raqqa city have regrouped and launched a powerful counter-assault against the US-backed, Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

ISIS commenced its counter-attack yesterday, initiating an operation that would see its fighters engage Kurdish-led forces on multiple axes throughout Raqqa city.

The operation was spearheaded by no less than four (4) vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED) of which at least one (shown in the photos below) appears to have clearly hit its mark.

On all the axes it attacked, ISIS stormed plenty of SDF positions and even managed to recapture a number of buildings in the southern and western districts of Raqqa.

According to ISIS, its forces have thus far killed some twenty (20) SDF troops as a result of this most recent offensive operation.

Is Al-Masdar acting as mouthpiece of ISIS? The title seems lifted off ISIS propaganda without trying to get independent confirmation or SDF view of what happened. This website even shows death toll claimed by ISIS in its title which makes ut look as if it’s a fact it is definitely true. ISIS is known for propaganda and Al-Masdar is unwittingly or knowingly pushing it.
