Damascus, SANA – Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun called on the visiting French tourists to convey the real image of what they have seen on ground in Syria to the French government and people.
The Mufti met the tourist group on Tuesday at the Umayyad Mosque.
He said the tourists’ visit challenges the misinformation and prevailing lies in the Western media about the situation in Syria, asserting that the Syrian people respect and love all people of the world, including the French people.
At the same meeting, Patriarchal Agent Luke Khouri of the Orthodox Church called on the tourists to convey to the public opinion back in their country the image of love, fraternity and national unity of the Syrian people to refute lies of tendentious media.
The French tourists, for their part, said they will work to present the real image about Syria to the French people, describing what is taking place in Syria in terms of the terrorism ravaging the country as “painful”.
