Saudi cleric, Abdullah al-Muhaysini, the prominent leader and top recruiter of the al-Qaeda Syrian branch, was filmed preaching his followers inside rebel-held districts of the northern Syrian city of Aleppo.
The notorious terror leader has reportedly entered the eastern parts of the city after jihadi groups managed to break the weeks-long siege imposed by government troops.
He was shown in the video standing amid a group of armed militants, taunting Russia and Iran – Assad’s staunch allies – about his men’s ability to defeat their forces in southern Aleppo.
An alliance of jihadi groups – led by Jabhet Fateh al-Sham (formerly Jabhet al-Nusra) – has launched a massive attack against government troops in southern Aleppo, seizing the Ramouseh district and adjacent artillery School.
The persistence of rebel groups to lift the siege off the areas it controls has been fueled by a setback in the city’s north when the Syrian Army succeeded in cutting off the main and only rebel supply road, mainly the Castello road.
