Las tropas sirias lanzaron un contra ataque en la Guta Oriental luego de varios días en las que se mantuvieron defendiendo la estratégica base de vehículos en el suburbio de Harasta, en los alrededores de Damasco.

De acuerdo a un corresponsal de al-Masdar en la capital, la 105ª y la 106ª brigadas de la Guardia Republicana, junto a las fuerzas “Escudo de Qalamouns” lanzaron una lluvia de misiles superficie-superficie en las posiciones de Harakat Ahrar al-Sham.

Tras el bombardeo las unidades militares mencionadas avanzaron capturando cuatro bloques de viviendas alrededor del edificio municipal, presionando hacia el Hospital al-Barazi, sitio de importancia fundamental en Harasta.

El Ejército Árabe Sirio (EAS) logró destruir además un tunel que estaba siendo excavado bajo la base militar por los jihadistas de Ahrar al-Sham.

Según el corresponsal de AMN al menos 40 militantes murieron en las últimas 24 horas, incluyendo varios comandantes.
