DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:10 P.M.) – German court sentenced a Syrian refugee to 5 years of imprisonment for being a member of the so-called “Islamic State” (IS, formerly ISIL/ISIS) and planning a terrorist attack.
On Friday, Shaas Al-Muhammad, 20 years old, was found guilty by a court in Berlin based on charges of having links to IS and preparing an attack in Berlin, which had never been carried out thanks to well-timed reaction of law enforcers.
Being underage, according to German laws, Al-Muhammad will begin serving his term of imprisonment in a juvenile prison.
This is not the first time when a Syrian national gets sentenced in Germany. On April 10, a 16-year-old Syrian refugee was convicted of plotting a bomb attack and was sentenced to 2 years in prison.
