German Chancellor Angela Merkel has expressed her skepticism over the proposal of a no-fly zone over Syria.

“Given the way the situation is at the moment, I’m skeptical that we can enforce a no-fly zone right now,” she said following a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.

She then expressed her view on how to resolve the Syrian war.

“Syrian authorities and Russia must take a step toward strengthening, renewing the ceasefire and humanitarian support,” she added.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier states that Syria should have a 7 day no-fly zone imposed following the destruction of an aid convoy in Aleppo. This contradicts the Chancellors statement.

Only two entities can summon NATO : UNSC which would be vetoed by Russia and EU council and I don’t think EU is willing an escalation of any kind with Russia to please Kerry or Erdogan, even less to please the saudis, qataris or shitlamists…
Both Erdogan and al-Jubeir complained that EU countries weren’t helping at all to oust Assad, I hope it’s nowhere near to change…
In fact, if we think about it, EU interests are mostly the same the Russians have, not at all those the US DoS has

Sorry guy, HeavyMetalDad, but if it was the case, Syrian population wouldn’t take refuge in Govt held areas! Just look well at all the propaganda from the rebels… Never asked yourself why there were no women? Govt, even for the besieged Aleppo lets open corridors to go out from here! In other terms : those who stay either do it willingly or they are barred to do so as they are used as hostages (if you prefer : Human shields). Do you really think that fighters that hide in the middle of children or block civilians from going out of… Read more »
