BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:50 P.M.) – The body of the late Major General Zahreddine has arrived in Damascus after being flown from the Deir Ezzor Governorate in eastern Syria.

While full details about his funeral have not been released, it is believed that his body will be transported to his ancestral village of Tarba in the Al-Sweida Governorate.

Major General Zahreddine was killed earlier today while conducting a special operation at Saqr Island in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

The general’s convoy struck a land mind during the mission, resulting in his death at the age of 56.

It is so sad to rear this shocking news. Such a great warrior, at the age of 56 when most of the others were in safer zones, he was leading from the front and was available with his troops right in the middle of the battle and always in danger zone like a true warrior. Extremely Sad to hear that the General’s convoy hit a land mine. He gave so much for Syria in defending the nation fighting against Daesh & other mercenary groups. He will be remembered in Syria and his well wishers and his fans around the world.… Read more »

He was one of the very few battle generals of our dark “modern” age, as opposed to all those Western office rats with stars, who would better serve in a village library than army. Zahreddine was a true hero, peerless warrior of our time, who set an example and was an inspiration to his officers and soldiers, and, indeed, a MAN. Heroes are immortal, their name will live with the people forever, though their souls leave our disgusting world for a much better place. Issam Zahreddine will always live in hearts of all men around the world who cherish justice,… Read more »

Why isn’t SANA, Press TV, RT, Pravda and many others not reporting this?
