BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:15 P.M.) – The nations participating in the G-7 Summit agreed on Tuesday that peace in Syria cannot be achieved with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad in power, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault remarked on Tuesday.
Syria was one of the main topics of discussion during the G-7 Summit on Tuesday, with several ministers making reference to the recent chemical weapons attack in the Idlib Governorate town of Khan Sheikhoun.
Foreign ministers attending the Group of Seven (G7) meeting gathered for a family photo ahead of the closing press conference in Ducal Palace, Lucca, Tuesday.
Foreign Ministers of the US, the UK, Germany, Canada, Italy, Japan and France took part in the photo opportunity alongside High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.
The ministers are expected to discuss issues including the fight against terrorism, the Syrian crisis, the situation in Libya and Ukraine, and the latest developments on the Korean peninsula.
