El miércoles se han producido enfretnamientos entre la policía kurda (Asayish) y combatientes tribales de las Fuerzas de Defensa Nacional (FDN), cuando los primeros no se detuvieron en el puesto de control del gobierno en el distrito de Qamishli.

Las FDN respondieron con armas de fuego a la negativa de las Asayish de parar en el puesto de control del gobierno, lo que resultó en un intercambio violento entre ambas partes.

Las Asayish contiuaron la escaramuza con la detención del comandante de las FDN en Qamishli; esto llevó a los últimos a detener a varios combatientes de la Asayish como forma de devolver la mano.

Desde entonces, la Asayish y las FDN han estado chocando abiertamente dentro de Qamishli, dejando a 10 combatientes y 4 civiles muertos en el proceso.

Las Asayish y las FDN tienen una larga rivalidad que comenzó en la capital provincial de la gobernación de al-Hasake; sin embargo, sus enfrentamientos raramente duran más de 24 horas.

Todavía no se ha anunciado algún alto al fuego.
