Las “Fuerzas Democráticas Sirias” (FDS) han capturado la estratégica ciudad de al-Shadadi que estaba en manos del Estado Islámico de Irak y el Levante (ISIS), después de larga y violenta batalla de 4 días que viero a estas fuerzas rebeldes avanzan varios kilómetros a través del terreno del enemigo.

Al-Shadadi es una de las ciudades más grandes de la gobernación de al-Hasake; también es la puerta de entrada a la gobernación de Deir Ezzor, que está en su mayor parte bajo el control del Estado Islámico de Irak y el Levante.

Con Al-Shadadi bajo su control, las FDS – junto a las “Unidades de Protección Popular” (YPG) predominantemente kurdas – han eliminado casi por completo a los terroristas de ISIS de esta provincia en el este de Siria.

El siguiente paso para librar a la provincia de ISIS será para despejar el campo occidental que limita con la gobernación de al-Raqqa; este es uno de los frentes más volátiles, dado que ISIS ataca continuamente la imprescindible ciudad de Ras Al-Ayn.
