BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:20 P.M.) – The Free Syrian Army’s “Jaysh Al-Nasr” unit targeted the Hama Military Airport on Sunday, striking this imperative installation with several grad rockets and artillery shells.
According to a military source in Hama, Jaysh Al-Nasr fired more than 40 grad rockets towards military airport, resulting in the destruction of a M1G-23 fighter jet that was parked near one of the targeted ammunition depots.
In addition to destroying the aircraft, the Free Syrian Army also targeted the large ammo depots inside the airport, causing more destruction to the military installation on Sunday.
The attack by the jihadist rebels on Sunday came just hours after the Syrian Arab Army seized the strategic town of Souran in the northern countryside of Hama.
