BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The Turkish-backed Free Idlib Police have announced this afternoon that they will be dissolving their forces and handing over their equipment to the jihadist rebels.
According to the group’s media wing, they will be handing over their headquarters and bases to the Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham-led “Salvation Government”.
Furthermore, the Free Idlib Police will be transferring all of their forces from the Jabal Shashabo and Al-Ghaab Plain regions of southwest Idlib to the Afrin region of northwestern Aleppo.
As a result of this disbandment, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham is now the “undisputed administrator” of the Idlib province.
