The Iraqi army – backed by Hashd al-Shaabi and local tribes – have just liberated 50% of Albu Ziyab village, north of Al-Ramadi.
According to Maj. Gen. Ismail al-Mahalawi, a shelter and store gear belonging to ISIS in the Albu Ziyab has been destroyed by the Iraqi Army; this has caused great damage to ISIS in the area.
He added, “The international coalition aviation was able to bomb and destroy a shelter and a store of gear belonging to the organization, large amounts of ISIS weapons and equipment have been destroyed and the terrorists have fled half of Albu Ziyab territories, in addition to inflicting big material and human losses upon the organization.”
The Iraqi Special Operations Forces in central Ramadi have crossed the Euphrates river to reach downtown Ramadi while also clearing several buildings of ISIS fighters and IEDs.
According to the Iraqi military spokesman Sabah al-Numan, the Iraqi armed forces are advancing towards the government complex in the city-center of Ramadi with support of the coalition air force.
Iraqi military spokesman al-Numan also added that 2 VBIEDs have been dismantled and 12 ISIS fighters have been killed during the clashes.
Iraqi security forces backed by local tribes and airstrikes have managed to capture Bakr and Hay al-Thubat districts, as heavy casualities mount for ISIS fighters.
