BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:20 A.M.) – A former rebel commander was gunned down by unknown assailants in the western countryside of the Aleppo Governorate on Friday.
‘Uthman Daaboul of Jaysh Al-Mujahideen was assassinated by unknown assailants inside the west Aleppo town of Batabo on Friday morning, rebel activists reported via social media.
Daaboul was reportedly leaving his home when two masked men on motorcycle opened fire and killed the former military commander of Jaysh Al-Mujahideen.
No group has claimed responsibility for this latest assassination.
Jaysh Al-Mujahideen was once one of the strongest rebel factions in the Aleppo Governorate; however, with the collapse of the militant forces inside the provincial capital, the group was no longer active.
