BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:20 P.M.) – Footage has been released by the Syrian Ministry of Defence (MoD) showing Syrian Arab Army (SAA) mechanized forces, backed up by Russian airpower and advisors, shooting their way across the provincial border of Homs Governorate into Deir Ezzor Governorate.

In the footage can be seen Syrian Army tanks, artillery, gun-trucks and anti-tank missile teams laying down a barrage of fire on all ISIS movements and positions within visual range.

Furthermore, Russian gunships can bee seen providing tactical air support to Syrian troops whilst Russian military advisors (mingled among Syrian Army ranks) observe and direct SAA actions on the ground.

The footage is linked to an advance made by pro-government forces yesterday in which the provincial Homs-Deir Ezzor border town of Haribshah along the Palmyra to Deir Ezzor (M20) highway was liberated from ISIS.
