BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:30 P.M.) – Footage has been released by Hezbollah’s media wing showing pro-government forces storming and securing the strategic town of Hamimah (also called Humaymah) in southeastern Homs Governorate.

In the footage can be seen Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and allied paramilitary troops storming the outer periphery of the town whilst under cover of heavy Russian tactical airpower, tank fire, rapid-firing autocannons and rocket artillery.

Noteworthy fire support weapons spotted in the footage include an Su-25 attack aircraft, modern T-72 types, a Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) pressed into the direct fire role, a BMP-1 fitted with a custom 23-mm ZU-23-2 gun in place of its standard turret and various designs of trucks mounted with 23-mm to 57-mm cannons

The pro-government operation to liberate Hamimah took weeks but now pro-government forces are in a position decisively cross-over in to southwestern Deir Ezzor Governorate and strike at the T-2 Airbase; beyond that lay the western bank of the Euphrates.
