BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – At least five members of the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) defected to the US-backed Manbij Military Council of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the latter reported via their official media wing.

According to their report, the five FSA fighters reached the SDF’s lines this week after abandoning their posts in northern Aleppo.

The Manbij Military Council said that at least ten fighters have defected to their side this month, including these five members of the Free Syrian Army that just recently joined forces with them.

The defectors said they left the FSA due to the ongoing looting and killing that is being done by the Turkish-backed rebels.

They added that the Turkish Army is in full control of all those groups, but they have not stopped the wide-scale looting and killing that is taking place in the area.

Old mujahideen tradition… Looting is perfectly codified in their “religious” book with % of the loot going to the clergy, % of the loot going to the bosses (Turkey), etc etc…

I think you’ll find that is the tradition of most militaries throughout the history of warfare. Some loot gold and riches, others womenfolk and livestock, and all too frequently land and real estate.
