BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:05 P.M.) – Footage has emerged over social media sources showing forces of the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division advancing against jihadist-led militias in the province of Hama.
Yesterday, troops of the Tiger Forces Division kicked-off their long-awaited and highly-ambitious offensive to clear rebel-held northwest Syria of terrorist militias.
Within hours of commencing their assault, the Tiger Forces captured the hilltop of Tal Aswad in northern Hama province. The securing of this key high-ground has since propelled the elite Syrian Army formation to liberate a string of key towns en-route to Idlib province.
The video shown (below) in this article is the first known footage to be released of the Tiger Forces’ operation and is linked to yesterday’s assault on Tal Aswad.
The video shows the Tarmeh Group of the Tiger Forces (a veteran sub-unit of the division) advancing with mechanized troops in the wake of artillery bombardment and airstrikes by both Syrian and Russian warplanes.
