BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:15 P.M.) – US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson addressed representatives of the coalition fighting the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIL/ISIS) in Kuwait city on Tuesday, warning that “the fight is not over”

While Tillerson acknowledged that the coalition had made “outstanding progress,” he cautioned that “the enduring defeat of ISIS in Iraq and Syria means all members of the coalition must support and sustain the post-ISIS stabilisation efforts. This means continuing to provide essential aid and services to communities which are only now starting to rebuild.”

In addition, Tillerson also spoke about the situation in Afrin, namely Turkey’s Operation Olive Branch, and claimed it “has detracted from our fight to defeat Isis in eastern Syria” and Tillerson will be visiting Turkey later in the week to discuss the issue.

The ex CO of ExxonMobil states that the fight against IS will not be over as long as a drop of oil is left in the US occupied parts of Syria.

p.s. Russian Defense Ministry said that the real goal behind Washington’s “illegal military presence in Syria” was control over the country’s economic assets rather than defeating the terrorist group Daesh.

Tillerson has just made it very clear that the US is not going anywhere anytime soon, because ISIS will never be destroyed…like Al Qaeda, they are forever. At least if the US has anything to do with it. It is the same old plan for ‘restoration’ too, destroy as much infrastructure as possible. Then have Haliburton, in any of it’s many subsidiaries come in and do shoddy work at astronomical rates. The Iraq ploy, which is also a form of warfare…economic indebtedness. This will only be happening in any of the territory that the US is successful in stripping from… Read more »

“Fight against ISIS is not over: Tillerson ”

And the world now realises that the US/Israel has been funding and training ISIS gangs with help from other beacons of American Democratic Values such as Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States 🙂

I hate to say this, but Turkey needs to tell the idiot Tillerson where to go.

Turkey and the US are among the rogue states that caused and facilitated the war in Syria that enabled IS’s rise. Their actions are not the solution but the cause of the IS problem. They should both be told where to go.

No, Mr Tillerson, it’s not over, especially as your CIA colleagues seem to welcoming them as a force, rebranded ‘DMC’ and paid wages by you!
