Golan Heights, Syria (1:40 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched a massive offensive in the Al-Quneitra Governorate on Saturday, targeting the Syrian government-controlled villages inside the Golan Heights.
Led by Jabhat Fateh Al-Sham (formerly Nusra Front) and their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jami’at Beit Al-Maqdis, the jihadist rebels stormed the hilltops overlooking the predominately Druze village of Hader.
Despite the intensity of their attack today, the jihadist rebels only managed to capture Humriyah Checkpoint so far.
According to the government-backed Quneitra Hawks Brigade, the first wave of jihadist attacks were repelled at Ba’ath City and Taloul Al-Hamr in the Golan Heights; however, the second assault has just commenced.
The Syrian Armed Forces have known about this jihadist offensive dubbed “Qadsiyah Al-Jnoub” for quite some time; it is one of the many reasons why they indadvertedly fire mortar shells into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights (Ba’ath City is on the border).
