ALEPPO, SYRIA (9:45 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a massive assault across the northern districts of Aleppo City on Monday, targeting several areas under the control of Fatah Halab near the Jandoul Road.
Led by the Republican Guard and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary), the Syrian Armed Forces stormed the Al-‘Oweija District’s western axis this morning, where they were confronted by a large number of enemy combatants.
According to a military source in Aleppo, the Republican Guard and their allies were able to secure the western axis of Al-‘Oweija, while also capturing a quarter of the district before sundown on Monday evening.
Rumors surfaced on Monday night that Harakat Nouriddeen Al-Zinki withdrew from the Al-Oweija District; however, this has been denied by Liwaa Al-Quds.
Meanwhile, south of Al-Oweija, the Syrian Armed forces imposed fire control over the strategic Jandoul Roundabout after capturing the entire Shuqayf Industrial Area this morning.
Intense clashes are still ongoing at several axes tonight, as the Syrian Armed Forces press the jihadist rebels in northern Aleppo.
