DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:40 P.M.) – Huge explosions ripped through the Syrian capital this morning as the Syrian Army resumed its military operation in the northeastern neighborhood on Jobar.
The operation was initiated by firing surface-to-surface missiles followed by heavy airstrikes conducted by the Syrian Air Force on militant positions around the industrial zone.
Much of the fierce clashes occurred near the Electrical Power Company where the government troops managed to seize two buildings.
Meanwhile, the government forces discovered and destroyed a rebel tunnel connecting Harasta to the international highway.
Last week, the Syrian Army repelled a massive attack launched by jihadi rebels from the al-Qaeda-linked Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, Failaq al-Rahaman and Ahrar al-Sham on the Industrial Zone.
