Palmyra: 22-3-2016

A new progress has been made today by the Syrian Armed Forces and allied national Defense Forces (NDF), seizing Palmyra Triangle and thus establishing full control on the Hayyal Moutains and overlooking the Tar Mountain.

Today’s achievement comes only one day after scores of Syrian soldiers were killed as a Russian rocket mistakenly hit their position.

A field correspondent covering the battles told Al-Masdar News that fierce battles erupted before the Syrian Army managed to control the strategic Triangle.

The world-terror organization has so far lost huge scores of its militants trying to defend the ancient city it has controlled since May 2015. If anything, this evidently proves the importance of Palmyra as a game-changing battle, and the doorway to ISIS-held areas in the northeastern part of Syria.
