The Syrian government forces continue to advance in Hama northern countryside as rebel defensives collapse.
Minutes ago, The Syrian Army’s elite forces managed to impose full control on Maardis, another small town that jihadi groups captured weeks ago, after seizing several imperative hills and farmlands to the south and southeast of the town.
The advance was considerably backed by Syrian and Russian airstrikes – in addition to heavy artillery shelling – which targeted jihadi positions and supply routes in Suran, Morek, Atshan, Sukayk and Al-Lataminah.
According to a military source, the government troops prematurely destroyed a VBIED – sent from the rebel-held Taybat Al-Imam – before approaching the Army positions.
The source confirmed that at least 34 jihadists were killed in the offensive, several vehicles destroyed.
