Palmyra Map Update: 19-4-2016

Less than a month after ousting the Islamic State from the ancient city of Palmyra, the Syrian Armed Forces continue to expand its control deep in the Syrian desert.

The Syrian Army launched today early morning a military operation and successfully managed to recapture the strategic Mazar Mount to the north of Palmyra.

The Islamic group used the mountain to launch several assaults against Army checkpoints in Al-Amiriyah.
